Being turned down for a loan does not necessarily affect your credit score, however there may be something on your credit report that is warning other creditors about your history.
If you need help with your finances, you can call Alberta Credit Counsellors at one of our call centers in Canada at (800) 890-9612 or locally in Edmonton at (780) 488-3328. Consultations are always free, however some programs may have fees depending on what program you feel works best for you.
The first step to fixing your credit is to know who you owe money to. If you already know which banks you owe and how much approximately, we can get started with one call, that’s all.
If you are not sure who you owe, or what is on your credit report, you must get a credit report from TransUnion or Equifax. You can order the free copy by mail, fax or phone. If you have a credit card and want it instantly for a fee you can visit Equifax or Contact TransUnion. For more information about how the agencies work, and what they will require from you, visit our credit report page.
We will find a program that works best for you, help you with the paperwork, or set you on the right path to take care of it yourself. We want you to get approved for your loan and back to the banks with a better credit rating.
Call us today if you have any questions about the process, your options or things you might want to be careful of. 780-488-3328 or browse our self help area for more free resources.
